“A structured route from counselling skills to counselling studies within one supported learning journey
The NCCS Integrated Level 2 & Level 3 Counselling Pathway provides a structured and cost-effective route for individuals beginning their journey towards becoming a qualified counsellor.
By enrolling onto both qualifications from the outset, students benefit from a clear progression pathway, continuity of learning, and a supportive cohort experience. The pathway combines the CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills and the CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies into one connected learning journey, enabling students to progress to the CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling sooner than if completing these courses over two academic years and potentially reduce the overall training journey from approximately four years to three years.
Level 2 develops essential counselling skills, self-awareness, empathy, and ethical understanding, while Level 3 builds deeper knowledge of counselling theory, mental health, reflective practice, and professional development.
Please note that Levels 2 and 3, whether studied separately or through the Integrated Pathway, do not qualify an individual to practise as a counsellor. Successful completion of a practitioner qualification, such as the CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, is required before working towards professional registration and qualified counselling practice.

“The level of detail given in assessor feedback, for example within assignments and skills observation is very high. The centre has exemplary plans and resources in place for supporting deferred candidates, who have not yet met the qualification requirements. The centre has good support for students who have special requirements.”
